PhD in International Conflict Management


  • Online Graduate Application - There is a non-refundable $60 application fee.   
  • Transcripts - Official transcripts from EACH College and/or University you have attended.  Must be in a sealed envelope from the institution or sent electronically from the institution directly to
  • International Applicants!  Your international transcript must be evaluated with a course by course and GPA calculation.  Please go here to learn about which services are approved to evaluate your international transcript.
  • A GRE score is not required, but may be submitted; if submitted, the GRE score will be considered alongside the other application materials. Applicants who submit GRE scores are not favored over those who do not.   School code is 5359.
  • Statement of Intent (Can be uploaded into the online application) - Statement of Intent describing the applicant's interest in the study of international conflict management and any relevant experiences and an outline of how the Ph.D. program could further those interests. Applicants are also encouraged to identify a research topic area and are encouraged to list potential faculty mentors. Your statement will be reviewed by the Program Admissions Committee.  (2-3 page maximum)
  • Writing Sample (Can be uploaded into the online application) - Submit a writing sample demonstrating your writing and analytical abilities as they relate to higher education or
    professional experience. This writing sample is preferred in English, however will be
    accepted in another language accompanied by an English translation. There are no length
    requirements, however longer samples (e.g., a senior or master’s thesis) should be
    accompanied by an abstract or executive summary.
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) (Can be uploaded into the online application) - Showing the chronological progression of your educational and work experiences including any additional information you deem relevant to support your application.
  • Letters of Recommendation (3) (Can be sent electronically through the online application) - At least two of your three letters of recommendation, should be from referees who can describe in detail your qualifications, motivation and prospects for success in the program.
  • English Language Testing – TOEFL or IELTS test (for International students only)
    TOEFL Minimum score of 88 or IELTS minimum score of 6.5.
